Based - Worthing in Person and Online Counsellor
32 years experience of counselling practice and training counsellors. My primary focus is on building a trusting and safe environment with you in order to explore any concerns you have. I work with you, at a pace which is comfortable for you. I have knowledge and skills to assist you in pursuing your journey; I will support you in finding your own answers and to make any changes you believe will better your life. Sometimes change is not what is wanted or needed; you may want to work through some difficult feelings and issues to gain closure or acceptance.

My Style of Therapy
My style of therapy is grounded in creating a compassionate, safe, and collaborative space where you feel truly heard and supported. I work in a Pluralistic Person-Centred way, which means I tailor our sessions to your individual needs, valuing your pace and your unique experience. Therapy can offer many benefits—whether that’s gaining clarity, reducing anxiety, processing grief, improving relationships, or simply finding space to reflect and breathe. Alongside talking therapy, I also offer creative arts counselling for those who find it helpful to explore thoughts and emotions through imagery, movement, or metaphor. You don’t need any artistic skill—creative work can gently bypass the parts of us that feel stuck or silenced, opening up new insights and ways of expressing what words alone sometimes cannot capture. For many people, this can be a powerful and healing process.
My Background
With over 3 decades of experience in counselling and counselling training, I bring a depth of understanding and compassion to my practice. My primary aim is to offer a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you feel comfortable exploring whatever is on your mind. Whether you’re facing life changes, emotional challenges, or seeking a deeper understanding of yourself, I work alongside you at a pace that feels right for you.
I believe that each person has the capacity to find their own answers and make meaningful changes in their life. My role is to support and empower you on that journey—whether that involves working through difficult feelings, gaining closure, or finding acceptance. Sometimes change is not the goal, and simply having the space to process and reflect can bring its own healing.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked in a variety of settings, including the NHS, educational institutions such as colleges and universities, voluntary organisations, and in private practice. Each of these environments has enriched my perspective and deepened my commitment to accessible, person-centred counselling.
In addition to my therapy work, I have been a counselling tutor for over 30 years, supporting students through the challenges of counsellor training. I currently offer CPCAB-accredited courses at the Rooms Worthing and online. We offer the Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills, the Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies, the Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (NCPS Accredited), the Level 5 Diploma in Counselling Children & Young People and the Level 6 Certificate in Therapeutic Supervision. I understand the unique pressures of training and am pleased to offer reduced rates for counselling students.
